The early 351 heads should have a 60-61 cc chamber. Not sure what the camber volume is on GT40's, but a 60cc chamber on a flat top 302 should give you a 9 to 9.5:1 compression ratio.

Already has bottom end rebuild .30 over, cranks been shaved, heads are fresh, has a small cam in it, a edelbrock manifold and edelbrock carb. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. A C9VE-A head is a production passenger car 429/460 cylinder head and NOT a CJ or SCJ head. The C9VE-A head has smaller valves, smaller intake ports and larger combustion chambers.

The C9 and D0 heads are alot like GT40 irons. They will work on a 302. Like said above the harden seats. You will need the adapter head bolt kit for 351W heads on a 302. From a usable power standpoint, D0VE heads would be better suited for your 460 jet boat than D0OE-R heads. Also, if you have a catastrophic failure that damages a cylinder head, locating a replacement D0VE head (here or in Norway) is much easier than locating another D0OE-R head.
