WebIt might have been more suitable for them to die a little more heroically like Riordan. It’s also bioware tradition at that point. Mass effect 1, 2 and 3 (sorta) as well as Origins, Awakening and DA2 all had a starting squadmate die pretty quickly. Ya, been a tradition practically forever. Even KotOR pulled that one.
WebHonestly, I feel if you can slog yourself, even through the drawn out and sloggy bits of Origins, you can get through 10-15 hours of Awakening. Plus it adds some really interesting lore with the Darkspawn, has some interesting companions, and possibly has one of the toughest choices you can make.
